Micah Peavy hit a floater from the left edge of the paint with 1.7 seconds left to cap a furious rally as visiting Georgetown stunned Villanova 64-63 on Monday night.Peavy hit six 3-pointers and finished with 24 points as the Hoyas (13-6, 4-4 Big East) rallied from eight points down in the final 2:34 to end their four-game losing streak.Jayden Epps returned to the lineup from an injury and scored 15 points as the Hoyas also snapped a seven-game skid against the Wildcats.Another starter back for Georgetown was Thomas Sorber, who had missed the previous game, a loss Friday to lowly DePaul. Sorber produced 15 points and 11 rebounds.Georgetown took advantage of the ejection of Villanova’s second-leading scorer and top rebounder Wooga Poplar, who was tossed less than eight minutes into the game.Poplar was dismissed after a tussle with Epps as they jostled for position on an inbounds pass. After Poplar shoved Epps and a Hoyas player stepped between them, Poplar threw a punch at Epps, which did not connect.National scoring leader Eric Dixon had 29 points for Villanova (12-8, 5-4), which lost for the third time in its last four games. Dixon had a chance to win it but his off-balance jumper at the buzzer was off the mark.Jordan Longino added 18 points for the Wildcats, who led by as many as 13 points in the second half and by 12 with less than 10 minutes left before the Hoyas stormed back.
