5K-9 promises to be a fun-packed event including a timed 5K Run/Walk with AND without dogs as well as a 1 Mile Doggie Dash!  This event offers something for every ability.  Pet participation is encouraged though we ask owner’s to please be considerate of their pet’s ability and their own ability to handle their pet in a social and athletic setting.

Come early to join us for entertainment will be provided by Cumulus Media, dog safety tips from Kaybee Training, speakers, vendors, drawings and MORE!

Event details and schedule

Event will be held at the Bay County Community Center, Bay City. Same day registration and check-in will open at 7:30 a.m. in the small gym of the Community Center. Snacks and beverages will be available for all paid participants after the races. Participation medals will also be available for all paid participants as well as age group placement medals for top runners and walkers. Participation medals ONLY for 1 Mile Doggie Dash event. Course will begin in front of the Community Center heading north on JFK drive turning right past the helicopter, following the Riverwalk over the small foot bridge down to the large wooden bridge across the river, staying on the sidewalk down to the Rowing Club where you will follow the sidewalk around the water station and back across the bridge. Just as the 2014 route, participants will follow the bridge back toward the Community Center turning BEFORE the small foot bridge to the finish line. Maps will be available at registration.

ALL DOGS ARE TO BE KEPT ON LEASHES. NO EXCEPTIONS.

PLEASE BE KIND AND CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR FURRY FRIEND IF NECESSARY.

Proceeds will provide funding to the Judy V. Spencer Fund, a fund monitored by the Humane Society of Bay county and the Women’s Center, to encure victims of domestic violence can provide a safe place for their pets. your participation in the 5K-9 will ensure safety for all members of the family.
