If your bracket was ruined by the likes of Villanova and Duke, you may feel a little bit like this Northwestern fan.
The ‘Crying Northwestern Fan’ became a tournament favorite after a botched call during the Wildcats’ game against Gonzaga on Saturday, March 18th.
According to New York Magazine, the kid has been identified as the son of Northwestern athletic director Jim Phillips.
The kid had reason to be upset, as referees missed an obvious goaltending call, which may have helped keep the Wildcats in the game. Instead, the team heads home after winning their first ever tournament game in the first round on Thursday, March 16th.
