DETAILED CONTEST RULES
WKQZ Harley High Card Showdown
1. How to Enter the Contest:
a. The Z93 High Card Showdown contest will begin on April 11th, 2015 at 8am and will end on May 13th, 2015 at approx 10pm.
b. To participate in the contest, there are two (2) ways to enter:
1) Listeners must be the first male and first female caller to 1-800-976-2593 after the cue to call in is announced on air during the contest period.
2) Listeners may enter at designated “Harley Parties,” which are 2-hour live remote broadcasts, the locations, dates and times of which shall be announced on air during the contest period. To enter at a designated Harley Party, listeners must complete and submit an entry form. At the conclusion of the event, from all eligible entries received during that event, a minimum of two (2) men and two (2) women will be selected at random. The selected individuals will be notified by phone.
Station is not responsible for lost, stolen, mutilated, destroyed, misdelivered, postage due, illegible, incomplete or untimely entries.Station is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches. Station is not responsible for any lost, disconnected, dropped, misdirected or incomplete telephone calls. Entrants may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the station.
c. A total of 256 listeners will be qualified for the finale – 128 men and 128 women. Listeners may qualify a maximum of one (1) time in this contest. Qualifiers are limited to one person per address.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
a. The contest is open to all WKQZ listeners who are legal United States citizens 18 years of age or older and who reside in Tri Cities WKQZlistening area. Employees of WKQZ its licensee, Cumulus Media, their subsidiaries, affiliated entities, affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Tri Cities and Flint area and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win. Immediate family shall include spouse, parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren and any other person residing within the same household.
b. Listeners are eligible to win a WKQZ contest only once every thirty (30) days. Only one (1) winner per household is permitted in any contest. Only one (1) person per household is allowed in this contest.
c. Participants in the contest must possess valid government issued photo identification.
d. Each Grand Prize winner will be required to sign a liability release as a condition of receiving a prize in this contest.
3. Prizes:
- Two (2) Grand Prizes will be awarded in this contest. Each Grand Prize includes: one (1) 2014 Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster motorcycle, valued at approximately $8,000 each, & sales tax will be paid by United Financial Credit Union. The Grand Prize is provided by Great Lakes Harley-Davidson on South Huron Dr in Bay City, MI. Winners must comply with all rules, laws and regulations of the State of Michigan associated with their receipt of the motorcycle, including, but not limited to, being eligible for vehicle registration and complying with all licensing and insurance requirements.
b. Grand prize is provided by Great Lakes Harley-Davidson, Bay City, MI, and United Financial Credit Union
c. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of 1740 Champagne Dr, Saginaw, MI 48604. Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty five (45) days of winning will be automatically forfeited by the winner, unless a prize has an expiration date, in which case a prize may be forfeited earlier than forty five days from winning. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. WKQZ is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate. Grand Prize winner will be required to pick up the Grand Prize at the office of Great Lakes Harley-Davidson on South Huron Dr in Bay City, MI
d. Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash.
e. Grand Prize winner will receive 1099 IRS Tax form for the value of the grand prize as stated in these contest rules.
f. Prizes are limited solely to those items explicitly set forth herein and shall not include any and all other expenses, incidentals or taxes that may arise out of the winner’s receipt of this prize.
g. Prizes will be awarded as is, with no written or express warranty.
4. Selection of Winners:
a. Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.
b. 256 Qualifiers will be selected as described in Section 1 of these contest rules. All eligible qualifiers must be present at the Great Hall in Midland anytime between 6pm and 7pm on May 13th, 2015 to check in and remain eligible for the Grand Prize by competingin the “Harley High Card Showdown.” Each qualifier present at the Grand Prize event will be randomly designated to a bracket by sex and will compete in a game of high card as follows: During each round, each eligible qualifier will be randomly assigned a bracket in which they will have a single opponent; each qualifier will be dealt (1) playing card at random and the qualifier with the higher playing card will advance to the next round; and this shall continue until one (1) male and one (1) female player remain and each will win one (1) Grand Prize (subject to confirmation of eligibility). Aces are high for the purpose of this contest. In the event two (2) qualifiers competing against one another in any round are dealt a card with equivalent values, those cards will be discarded and alternate cards will be dealt; this shall continue until there is a single winner for that round. In the event that a qualifier is not present during any round, they will be disqualified and their designated opponent will get a bye for that round.
e. All qualifiers must be present to win.
c. A winner will be determined at approximately 10pm on May 13th, 2015.
d. The odds of qualifying depend upon the number of listeners who call in when the cue to call in is announced on air and the number of listeners who enter at participating Harley Parties, as described in Section 1 of these contest rules. The odds of winning the Grand Prize, once qualified, are 1 in 128, but will depend upon the number of listeners present at the Grand Prize event.
5. Conditions:
a. Photo identification and social security number of the Grand Prize winner may also be required in order to collect the prize. Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners will be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent. Winner will receive a 1099 for the value of the prize as stated in these contest rules.
b. Winner is required to sign a release in order receive their prize. Failure or refusal to execute the release will result in winner forfeiting the prize. Pursuant to the liability release, the winners will agree to hold WKQZ its licensee, Cumulus Media, their subsidiaries, affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
c. By participating in the contest, the winner or winners (and their guest or traveling companion, if applicable) agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.
d. WKQZ in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the WKQZ Web Site or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. The station further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
e. The Station reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify the contest rules and dates at any time for any reason. Material modifications shall be announced on-air, when practical. By participating in this contest, you agree to be bound by these contest rules, any modifications thereof, and by all other rules imposed by Station management. If due to circumstances beyond the control of Station, any event associated with this contest or the prize is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.
f. No purchase is necessary. The contest is void where prohibited.
g. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification, at the sole discretion of WKQZ.
h. WKQZ is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
i. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of WKQZ, 1740 Champagne Dr, Saginaw, MI, 48604 or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to WKQZ.
j. Station reserves the right to substitute a prize of greater or equal value at its sole discretion.
